Daughter of Isaac Barnett.

She married John "Jack" Griggs, Jr., on Sept. 6, 1817, in Clark Co., KY. They had children who may have died young: Martin Griggs, James S. Griggs, and Allen J. Griggs.

The last census for Nancy Griggs was July 6, 1870, Nevada P.O., Center Township, Vernon Co., MO. She resided with daughter, Mary, and Mary's second husband, Dr. John R. Smith. Dr. Smith was the administrator of John Griggs' estate.

John and wife, Nancy, joined the Goshen Church March of 1867, and died soon afterwards. It is assumed that they were buried in the Goshen Cemetery.

Griggs descendant, Ms. Cora "Corabelle" Olmstead Corneliuson graciously contributed the photo of Nancy Barnett Griggs with permission given to Janet de la Peña to use on this memorial.
