Ethel B. Carr, 104, of Springfield died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at her home. She was born Sept. 17, 1898, in Springfield, the daughter of George and Addie Wright Gray. She married Leslie Carr in 1918; he died in 1968.
Mrs. Carr retired as a matron for the Illinois Central Railroad in 1967. She was a founding member of St. John's AME Church.
Survivors: a sister, Thelma Gwinn of Springfield; two nieces; and a great-nephew.
Services: noon Tuesday, St. John's AME Church, the Rev. Charles Jackson officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
