Died at the residence of her son, Morris Bernstein, East Jefferson street, Monday evening, Dec. 12, 1904, at 8 o'clock, at the advanced age of 104 years and 13 days, Mrs. Bessie Bernstein. She was born in November, 1800, in Warsaw, Russia Poland. The greater part of her lfie was spent there and it was there her marriage occurred and her two children were born. Her son, Morris, came to this country when he was young, and twenty-seven years ago he sent for his father and mother. Mr. Bernstein died there thirteen years ago at the age of 96 years. After the death of her husband Mrs. Bernstein came to Springfield and has since resided here with her son. She has a number of acquaintances in the city.
Besides her son, at whose home she resided, she is survived by another son, Max, whose address is not known.
Mrs. Bernstein, in spite of her advanced age, was remarkably well preserved and did not look over ninety. Until last Thursday she had enjoyed perfect health. At that time she was stricken with paralysis. The funeral was held from the residence yesterday afternoon, Rabbi Sherman officiating. the interment was made in Oak Ridge cemetery.
