Highly prolific actor/comic who entered films in 1912. His vast motion picture credits include roles in classic films, such as those by Charlie Chaplin, including "City Lights" (1931), "Modern Times" (1936), and "The Great Dictator" (1940). He was also a long-time member of Mack Sennett's Keystone Kops, and he appeared in several comedies with The Three Stooges, Our Gang, and many others. Other all-time classic films that he appeared in include "Scarface" (1932), "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" (1939), "Meet John Doe" (1941), "The Maltese Falcon" (1941), "Yankee Doodle Dandy" (1942), "Arsenic and Old Lace" (1944), "M" (1951), and "Brigadoon" (1954). He was the last surviving member of the original Keystone Kops.
