Unity – Floyd E. Winship, 85, died August 2, 1976, at a Pittsfield hospital following a long illness. He was born in Vanceboro, March 18, 1891, the son of Orrin and Albertha (Colson) Winship.
He moved from Aroostook County over 60 years ago and had been engaged in farming in Unity since 1920. He was a member of the Harvest Moon Grange, Thorndike.
He is survived by three 3 sons, Robert, Unity, Hershell, Dover, NH, Harold, Register, GA; one daughter, Phyllis Williamson, Dixfield; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one niece.
Friends may call Wednesday at the Donald Shorey Funeral Chapel in Pittsfield 3-5 and 7-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 pm at the Quaker Hill Church in Unity. Burial will be in the Quaker Hill Cemetery, Unity. (Bangor Daily News August 4, 1976)
