PVT US ARMY - WORLD WAR II
Nashville, Tenn. – Harold Nicholas Winship, 62, of 865 Harden Lane, Sevierville, Tenn., a Unity, Maine native and a former longtime resident of South China, Maine, died Tuesday March 22, 1988 at Veterans Administration Medical Center here.

He was born in Unity May 15, 1925, son of Floyd and Laila (Walton) Winship, and graduated from Unity High School and an Allentown, PA, carpentry school. A carpenter and builder by trade, he was a past member of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons and Thorndike Grange.

Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Vinton of West Franklin, NH and Lucille Plummer of South China, Maine; two brothers, Robert Winship of Unity, Maine and U.S. Air Force Retired Capt. Hershell Winship of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Phyllis Williamson of Yarmouth, Maine; seven grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held and committal prayers will be offered at 1 pm Monday at Father Leonard LeClair Memorial Chapel, Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, New Belgrade Road, Augusta, Maine. Arrangements are under the direction of Gray Funeral Home, Windsor Neck Road, Windsor, Maine. (Published in the Waterville Morning Sentinel)
