Mrs. Ullrich lived a quiet, peaceful life and that is just the way she departed this life - she suddenly went to sleep. The writer never knew a sweeter character than Mrs. Ullrich, who always had a tender feeling for those in distress and a deep interest in the well being of everyone, family and friends. Her life was so lived that it can be well said that it was that she did live, leaving behind a heritage that her children will cherish much more than had it been silver or gold - character, which has been so beautifully exemplified throughout her entire life.
Mrs. Ullrich was the daughter of the late Wm. and Frances Chisem. She was born February 15, 1866, in Kentucky. She moved with her parents to Fort Bend County at the age of five years, locating in Richmond. She married H.F. Ullrich of Richmond and continued to live in that city until the year 1908, when the family moved to Rosenberg, where she continued to live until her death.
Deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ollie Tormey of Rosenburg; four sons, Herman F. Ullrich and Robert G. Ullrich, both of whome are employed on the Houston Chronicle and reside in Houston and Arthur H. and Raymond L. Ullrich, both of Rosenberg; five granchildren, Leonard Tormey, Leon Ullrich and Arthur H. Ullrich, Jr., of Rosenberg, Elenor and Joy Ullrich of Houston; one great-neice, Mrs. Lennie E. Ward of Rosenberg and one great-great- neice, Dorothy Winsten Ward of Rosenburg.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Rosenberg, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. L.O. Hollaway, pastor of the local church and Rev. J. Vernon Wheeless, of Sour Lake, conducted the services in the presence of a large assembly of relatives and friends. The many floral offerings attested the high esteem in which this dear woman was held. Interment took place in the W.O.W. Cemetery, beside the grave of her husband, who preceded her in death a number of years ago.
Pallbearers were C.W. Allwright, W.D. Talley, E.J. McCarthy, Tom Anderson, Geo. Whiteman, and M.E. Parrott.
The Foerster Funeral Home of Rosenberg had charge of funeral arrangements.
Sympathy is extended to the bereaved in their hour of sorrow.
