Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at The Refuge (4308 58th Street) with Rusty Fuller officiating. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Monday, May 31, 2010, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Rickey was born on March 2, 1971, in Colorado City, Texas, to Rickey Allen Parks I and Deborah JeRee (Carter) Parks. He married Cecilia Thomasson Parks on March 23, 2001.

Rickey was a good friend, brother, husband, and father. He crawled out of the depths of hell, through his addiction, to become a man of God. He is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He lived to carry a message and in his death that message continues on. He will be missed by all that had the privilege to know him.

Rickey was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Walton Vannoy and Better Carter Williams, and fraternal grandfather, Burl H. Parks.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 10 years, Cecilia of Lubbock; six children, Alexis Garren (18) of Abilene, Rickey Parks III (18) of Lubbock, Taylor Parks (14) of Lubbock, Fox Parks (12) of Lubbock, Hunter Parks (11) of Lubbock, and Haven Parks (22 months) of Lubbock; parents, Rickey Allen Parks I of Dallas and Deborah JeRee (Carter) Parks of Rossville, Tennessee; two brothers, Thomas Parks and Michael Parks, both of Rossville, Tennessee; fraternal grandmother, Buena Goff of Dallas; as well as many other family members and friends that loved him dearly.

Rickey was hit by a drunk driver and passed on the shortly thereafter at University Hospital in Lubbock.
