Roy Ellis Cole of Bozeman died Monday evening at the Bozeman Care Center of natural causes. He was 89.
He was born in the family home north of Belgrade on June 7, 1899, to Albert S. and Rilla Ann Cole. He attended Meadowview school north of Belgrade. He farmed in the Gallatin Valley his entire working life.
In 1936 he married Margaret Loughnane. She died in 1953. On Sept. 21, 1970, he married Marie Stevens in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He is survived by his wife of Bozeman; a son, Daryl Cole of Pomeroy, Wash.; a daughter, Rilla Hardgrove of Billings; three step-children, William Dennison Stevens of Oak Harbor, Wash., Harriet DeWitte of Belgrade, Betty Jean Pasha of Bozeman; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Cole and a daughter, Betty Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday at the Dahl Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Sunset Hills Cemetery. Dahl Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
