Sandra June (Yadon) Murphy, 60, of Cardwell, died June 17, 2007, in Ennis.

She spent her last day doing exactly what she loved the most - riding her horse, herding cattle and helping her friends.

God called her home at his perfect time. Because of her personal relationship with Christ, we have confidence of her eternal home with Jesus.

Sandy was born in Bozeman, to Theresa (Dyk) and Clarence Yadon Jr. on Jan. 22, 1947. After graduating from Manhattan High School in 1965, she married Melvin Foster. They had one son, Shawn. Melvin died following a horse accident in 1971.

In 1974, she married Nolan Murphy. They spent two summers in Gardiner, working for the National Park Service. In 1975, they settled in Milligan Canyon and ranched together until her death.

Sandy's love for God was first in her life. She lived to honor him in all she did and loved her husband and family. Each day she lived, she enjoyed and appreciated God's creation. The sweet sound of a meadowlark, green grass on the hillside, spotting a herd of elk or a wildflower blossom all brought her such pleasure. Usually accompanied by a dog ... or two ... or more, she loved all her animals.
Everyone was always welcome at their table, even if you invited yourself and there were always treats in the drawer.

She is survived by her husband, Nolan of Cardwell; son, Shawn, his wife, Alethea; grandchildren, Cody and Cora, of Savery, Wyo.; mother, Theresa Yadon of Manhattan; sisters, Shirlee (Vern) Phillips of Billings, Deb (Marvin) Erickson of Bozeman, Rhonda (Drake) Albertson; brother, Bob (Sally) Yadon of Manhattan; brother-in-law, Terry Murphy of Cardwell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her dad and stillborn daughter, Vonda Renee.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Cardwell Community Church at Cardwell, with the Rev. William Grinder officiating. Memorials: Cardwell Community Church.

K&L Mortuaries & Crematory of Whitehall is in charge.
