Bonita was raised in Logan, attended Logan Grade School and graduated from Manhattan High School. Following high school, she went to Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, Calif., and worked in several San Francisco banks.
She later moved to Spokane, Wash., where she met William Goforth. The couple were married on Dec. 3, 1971. While they were together, they lived in Spokane, Anchorage, Alaska, and Washington, D.C. Bill died in 1995, and Bonita then moved back to Logan in 1997 to take care of her parents.
Bonita was passionate about genealogy and had been the secretary for the Washington, D.C., Daughters of the American Revolution chapter. She also loved her cats.
Bonita was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and her father, Delbert.
Survivors include her mother, Doris of Billings; her brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Linda Karlstrom of Billings; nephew, Dusty Karlstrom and his wife, Babs of Mandan, N.D.; niece, Heather Karlstrom of Deer Lodge; and great-niece, Raelynn Karlstrom of Billings.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter, 1549 E. Cameron Bridge Road, Bozeman, MT 59718; and to the Salvation Army, 425 E. Babcock St., Bozeman, MT 59715.
