Born in Bloomington, Indiana, Mrs. Grandcolas was an advertising sales consultant for Good Housekeeping magazine who lived in San Rafael, California with her husband Jack. She attended the University of Texas at Austin. Full of life, she loved physical fitness and the outdoors. She celebrated her thirtieth birthday by skydiving with her husband. Publishers had expressed an interest in a book she was writing to help women with their self-esteem. After her death, her husband and sister planned to finish the book.
