Passed away Friday, May 25, 2007. She was born January 17, 1929 in Michigan City, IN, the daughter of Herman Henry and Elsie Louise (Kamnatzki) Roth and had been a resident of the Portage area for many years. Elaine had been employed by the Upjohn Company for 32 years and attended the United Methodist Church. She played baseball for the Kalamazoo Lassies for seven years and she and her sister, Eilaine, were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. She also played industrial leagues softball before and after baseball, and competed in the Senior Olympics. Elaine is survived by her sisters, Althea Bancroft of Irons, MI and Eilaine M. Roth, her identical twin, of Battle Creek; a brother, Harold (Alice) Roth of La Porte, IN; and four nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, on Saturday, June 2, 2007 from 2-6PM. A Memorial Service will be held later in Baldwin, MI.
