DEATH OF MRS. D.E. BAKER
Well Known Popular Lady Victim of Incurable Disease

The deceased was known in her girlhood as Mary L. Turneaure. She was born in Crawford county. Pennsylvania on July 31, 1853. When ten years of age she came with her parents to Illinois, where she lived until marriage. This was at Belvidere on October 23, 1889 to D. B. Baker. The couple came at once to Traer and have lived with us since. Two children have been added to the family, Ralph and Ruth, both at home and both worthy of the love and care bestowed upon them by their mother now gone. Mrs. Baker became a member of the Baptist church in girlhood, and after locating in Traer became connected with the Congregational church.

One of our host women has gone. Her acquaintance may not have been as wide as that of some others more in the public eye, but we are sure that those who know her best felt none were imbued with higher qual¬ities of noble womanhood. A perfect lady at all times, under all circumstance she inspired the love and re¬spect of her friends. As for her the struggle and burden bearing of earth are ended and her dear ones can trust with full confidence that like one who awakes from a troubled dream, she has awakened to see life’s endless morning break. The funeral is to be held today. Friends will be welcome at the home between 9 and 2. Here a short service will be held at the latter hour, and at 2:30 there will be services in the Congregational church, conducted by Dr. Snowden, of Cedar Falls, assisted by Rev. Gonzales. Burial will be in Buckingham cemetery.
