The community was shocked Thursday morning to learn that Jeremiah Adams had passed away very suddenly at his home in this village. Mr. Adams arose earlier than usual, seemingly in his usual good health but in a few short hours his life was extinct. Jeremiah Adams was born in Dolphin (sp) Co., Pennsylvania, May 15th, 1827, and his soul took its flight from this earth April 13th, 1911. He was married to Miss Eliza Lowe, who died several years ago. He leaves to mourn his loss three sons and two daughters. Although in his latter years of his life he was not on our streets much, he has left a host of friends, who will miss him greatly. Mr. Adams went to the front in the war of the great Rebellion and was in Co. A, 47 Iowa Volunteer Infantry. Mr. Adams has lived a good moral life. The funeral was conducted at the Methodist Church Saturday morning, J.M. Jennings officiating, text Isaiah 38:1-Set thy House in order for thou shalt die and not live.
