Ruth Sutton Brownfield, the daughter of Isaac Sutton, born in 1750 Somerset Co., NJ and Mary Elizabeth Carr, born in 1736 in Penn. Isaac and Mary moved to Licking Co Ohio in 1802 and Isaac died in 1812 and Mary in 1827

Joseph Sutton (son of Isaac) came from Fayette Co., Penn in the year 1801 ---- and late in the fall of that year the pioneer returned to his old home in Penna to make the necessary preparations for bring his family --- to the new home in the forest. The following spring (1802)-included the following: Isaac Sutton, the father: Elizabeth Carr Sutton, the mother: and sons and daughters, Elizabeth, Jehu, Rhoda, and Eliza. Two married daughters, Ruth and Naomi, remained at the old Penna home, but their some of their descendants later followed to the new settlement. (This info is provided by R. Messmore)
