Biography on page 60 on the book "Staff Officers in Gray" by Robert E. L. Krick.

"b. Richmond, Virginia, October 5, 1832. att. UVA. Very wealthy Goochland Co. farmer and "Gent." Lt. Co. H, 1st Virginia, June 1861. WIA at Blackburn's Ford. Capt. AQM, 1st Virginia, 1861. Probably served as acting QM to Kemper and W. R. Terry. Capt. AQM to Moore. Aug. 20, 1864. d. Richmond, October 15, 1868 of liver disease. bur. Shockoe Cem., in an unmarked grave."

Through the efforts of the "Friends of Shockoe Hill Cemetery" and a generous grant from the Society of the Order of the Southern Cross, a government marker was placed on February 23, 2012.
