Richard died of the measles during the Civil War. He was in the CSA, Co F, 39th MS Infantry, and Co H, 6th MS Infantry. Prior to the war he lived in Simpson County MS and was a farmer.
He is buried in an "Unmarked Grave" per FAG Volunteer, Thomas #46634159, on 19 May 2019. He noted that there are several unmarked graves for "Unknown Confederate Soldiers" buried in the corner of the cemetery.
