Lorenzo was the son of Ephraim Wilson and Charlotte Christmas. He married Jemima Byrd of Smith Co., MS. They were the parents of five children; Nancy Ann, Harriet Elizabeth, Orlando Franklin, Charlotte Levina and Amanda Jane.
Lorenzo entered service for the Confederacy on 1 June 1861 at Raleigh, Smith Co., MS as a Private in Company C, 8TH Mississippi Infantry. He was captured in late November at the battle of Lookout Mountain or Missionary Ridge.
Lorenzo died in the notorious Federal Prison of Rock Island.
