HELEN STONER

The Lord took Helen Stoner, 90, while surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Jan. 5, 2007. She was born July 11, 1916, in Terry and moved to Manhattan with her family as a young girl.

Helen was a loving wife and homemaker for 71 years to her husband, Floyd, and a devoted mother to three children before whom she personified Christian love, grace, encouragement and goodness.

She had many interests in her formative years including camping and fishing trips with her family, playing bridge with her friends, vacationing in California with her husband and cooking -- she was an exceptional cook. We have missed her delicious cookies, fudge, almond roca, cakes and wonderful pies these past few years.

She also was a very active member of Eastern Star, Sweetbriar Chapter No. 49 in Manhattan where she made many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; parents, Homer and Myrtle (Cornell) Stoudt; brothers, Harold, Robert and Glen; sister, Frances; and son-in-law, Lee Ulmen.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Shirley (William) Ambrose of Patagonia, Ariz.; Linda Ulmen of Manhattan, and Gary (Natalie) Stoner of Worthington, Ohio. She is also survived by grandchildren: Donna (Wade) Wing, Helen (Douglas) Allen, John (Ruth) Ambrose, Suzanne (David) Soza, Michael (Audrey) Ulmen, Lee (Kathy) Ulmen, Mark (Stacy) Ulmen, Jason (Erin) Stoner, and Sean (Ashley) Stoner; great-grandchildren: Victoria and Cassandra Wing, Dawn (Colin) Porter, Laurie and Ryan Allen, Heather and Rachel Ambrose, Kevin Holland, Jared and Derek Ulmen, Candice (Scott) Evans, Bobbie (Henry) Robertson, Britina Kamps, Jessica (Clayton) Damjanovich, David Ulmen, Will and Katie Ulmen, Jackson and Alexis Stoner, and Charles Stoner; and by great-great-grandchildren, James Bond, Tyler and Isabella Porter, Samuel Robertson, and Brenna Damjanovich; and by numerous nephews and nieces.

"Rest in God's peace, Mom."

Visitation with the family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Interment will follow in Meadow View Cemetery. There will be a reception at Century Village in Manhattan at noon.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Bozeman Deaconess Hospice for the compassionate care they gave to Helen.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a contribution in her memory to Bozeman Deaconess Hospice, 915 Highland Blvd., Bozeman 59715.
