Patricia Bowles "Patty" Goodrich passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2003, of natural causes.

She was born on October 15, 1929, in Bozeman to George W. and Marie (Nelson) Bowles. She grew up and attended schools in Bozeman, graduating from Gallatin County High School in 1947. She then attended Montana State College, where she earned a degree in applied art, graduating in 1951. Patty married James G. "Jimmy" Goodrich on September 8, 1953, in West Yellowstone and the couple spent their married lives in the Gallatin Canyon, operating the 320 Guest Ranch from 1959 until 1987 when Patty retired. Her husband, Jimmy, preceded her in death in 1977.

She was very active in Gallatin Canyon and Big Sky activities; was a member of Chapter BF, PEO Sisterhood in Bozeman; a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority at Montana State College; a trustee emeritus at the Museum of the Rockies; an honorary member of the Soldiers Chapel Board of Directors; a member of the Headwaters Chapter, Lewis & Clark Heritage Foundation; a six-year member of the Bozeman School District's Board of Trustees from 1979 to 1985; and a member of the board of directors of the Worthy Students Scholarship Fund. She was an avid bird watcher, loved to travel and especially enjoyed her volunteer work at the Museum of the Rockies.

Patty is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Gail Marie and James Walma of Meeker, Colorado, and Caroline and Mario Gallegos of Bozeman; granddaughter Jamie Walma and Capt. David Massey of Midville, Ga.; special friend Jack Fellerhoff; brother and sister-in-law, Jack R. and Phyllis Bowles of Cameron; sister-in-law Nadine Loetzer of Rio Ranch, N.M.; nephews Chip and Jud Bowles of Cameron; nephews Gregg and Scott Patrick and niece Dale Curtis of N.M.; and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 1, at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church with interment at a later date in the Soldiers Chapel Cemetery. Memorials in Patty's name may be made to the Soldiers Chapel or to the Museum of the Rockers.
Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
