Lauren Henry Heeb, 65, retired groceryman and lifelong Gallatin Valley resident, died Sunday at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital following a brief illness. His home was at 316 West Lamme.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowview Cemetery at Manhattan.

Heeb was born Feb. 23, 1903, at Manhattan, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Heeb. He lived at the ranch home at Manhattan and attended schools there.

For 23 years, Heeb was manager of Landreth Seed Company at Bozeman, and after the company dissolved he was associated with his brother, Earnest, in the grocery business for 12 years and later worked at Joe's Finer Foods for about six years before retiring two years ago.

He married Susie A. Norman at Livingston on July 21, 1924.

Survivors, in addition to his widow, include two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Robinson of Manhattan and Mrs. Kenneth (Lorraine) Kitto of Toston; eight grandchildren; his brother, Earnest R. Heeb; two sisters, Mrs. Joan Warmack of Los Angeles and Mrs. Harold (Montana) Paige of Long Beach; his mother, Mrs. Louisa Heeb of Long Beach, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and uncles.
