Charles Scott Hodge Sr., 79, of Manhattan, died Sunday from injuries he received in a six-vehicle accident on I-90 near Missoula. Also killed in the accident were Hodge's daughter and son-in-law, Sharline and Marvin Kalland, and their eight-year-old daughter, Kathy.

Mr. Hodge was born August 23, 1899, in Bristol, Tennessee, a son of Lee and Lloyd Hodge. He grew up and attended school in Tennessee. He moved to Manhattan when he was 15. He was employed for many years at the Manhattan Company and Cattle Ranches.

Survivors include a son, Charles Jr. of Manhattan; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Koerber, Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Hearl, of Virginia; two sisters, Irma McGregor, San Dimas, California and Rose Duncan, Virginia; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Manhattan Bible Church. Burial was in Meadowview Cemetery at Manhattan.
