He was born June 25, 1917 in Belgrade to Glenn and Christine Skinner. He joined two brothers, Paul and Bill and three sisters, Erlice, Ruth and Marjorie.
Wally attended Heeb Schools in the Manhattan area until entering the Marine Corps and later the Navy CB's in WW II.
After WW II, Wally married Ethelyn Berninger who preceded him in death in 1962.
Wally held offices in the American Legion and VFW where he was commander this year. His greatest love was working with wood, his family and "helping friends." He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Belgrade.
Survivors include his children, one son, Ron (Wanda) of Bozeman; and one daughter, Patty (Bill) Tool, of Seattle, Washington. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, Ron (Tenille); Dustin (Carol); Laura; Mary Ann; Amber; Shianne and Ashley; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, October 4 at Dahl Funeral Chapel in Bozeman followed by a committal service at Meadowview Cemetery in Manhattan.
