Elizabeth Wright was my Mom.Born in Laurinberg N.C, she was the middle child between Joseph and William. They were born 1 year and 6 months apart. Their mother Kathleen died when they were very young and they were raised by their grandparents. Elizabeth was a very bright child,but due to the times was not able to continue her education past the 6 grade. At 16 she met and married my father Lofton Gurganious. They were happy for 22 years until his sudden death in 1964. Relocated to NYC she worked as a dressmaker for many years. In 1977 she married Richard Wright until his passing in 1980. Devoutly religious all her life,she served as a Mother of Majority Baptist Church until her death. Also a devoted foster mother,she adopted Latonya and Nathaniel as newborns. She was a wonderful and giving mom and grandmother. Always frugal, she spared no expense on her 3 grand-kids;-)...missing her dearly are her 3 children Traceye,Latonya and Nathaniel, 4 grands Ayana,Emmanuel,Joshua and Antoine(born after her passing),2 great-grands Ozias and Jarea(also born after her passing but will know all about her) and 1 beloved God-daughter Maurva.
