Richard was raised in foster care along with his sis Sylvia. At a very young age he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. While fighting in Korea he sufferd a serious head injury and was medically discharged. Feeling his military career was not over he enlisted in the Army. It wasn't until he was in bootcamp that they realized that he was already discharged..lol... In 1977 he met and married my Mom,Elizabeth Wright. They were happy until his death in 1980. He was a wonderful step-father to me and a wonderful Dad to his only daughter Rochelle. Despite many health problems related to his war injuries,he was proud of his military career and would have gladly done it again. He was a gentle and generous man who would happily give his last dime(much to my Mom's chagrin). Due to a fire this picture of his VA card is the only picture I have. I love you and will miss you forever. ⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓⚓I would like to thank Rhonda Sue for sponsoring my Dads memorial page. This is such a generous gesture from someone that I've never met in person. Richard was a very loving man and I know that had she met him she would have loved him too. She is one of my Earth Angels !!!
