Fought at Chickamauga, Missionary Ridge, Rocky Face Ridge, Resaca, and Dallas; from Dallas to Atlanta; Peachtree, Intrenchment, and Utoy Creeks; Jonesboro and the mounted campaign. Paroled at Washington, GA, 7 May 1865. Took the Oath of Allegiance in Nashville, 20 May 1865; described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, with fair complexion, brown hair, gray eyes. Married Virginia Elizabeth Montgomery, 13 October 1868.
