"George Munro was one of the most prominent and influential men who ever made his home in this county (Livingston). He was the possessor of large landed estates and for three terms served in the State Legislature, twice being elected without opposition, and once with only slight competition."

George Munro and Mary Morin were married April 14 1829 in Howard County, Missouri and had six children: Susan, Sarah, Eleanor, Eliza, Nannie and William P.
