Catherine was the daughter of Edward Spalding & Juliana Boarman. She was one of the founders of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, KY, near Bardstown. Sister Catherine died at St. Vincent Orphan Asylum , which she founded & of which she was in charge. She was was a mother superior.
