William Charles Gotschall was a retired Chief Master Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force. Retired after 30 years of active military duty. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeant's Association, Non-Commissioned Officers Association, Air Force Security Police Association and the Moroccan Reunion Association. As well as belonging to the 505th RCT "C" Company, 82nd Airborne Division (World War II).

William Gotschall passed away at the age of 88 on May 3, 2006. He was born to Phillip Manley and Flora [Ethal Turner] Gotschall in Millersport, Ohio.

At the time of his death he was survived by his wife Rhea Clark Gotschall, being married for 58 years. Also a son and daughter-in-law, William C. Jr. and Frances (Campbell) Gotschall, Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandson, Mark Gotschall and wife, Nicki of Louisville, Kentucky; granddaughter, Laura Gotschall of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sister-in-laws, Ruth Gotschall of Hebron, Ohio, Lil Gotschall of Charleston, South Carolina, Cleta Finley of Columbus; brother-in-law, Louis Clark of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers Richard and John Gotschall, mother Flora [Nancy Edwards] Gotschall and great-grandson Bryce William Gotschall, preceded him in death.

Bill was an avid oil-painter specializing in European castles. He was a member of Gender Road Christian Church and the Golden Leaf Society. He and his wife were residents of Whitehall, Ohio.

His funeral was handled by Evans Funeral Home on Livingston Ave. and interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Franklin Co., Ohio.
