Carl Louis Heldman III, 63, of Glassboro, died on Monday, February 25th.

Born in Gulf Port, Mississippi, he has been a Glassboro resident for the last 20 years. Mr. Heldman served with the U.S. Air Force in the Security Police for 22 years from 1964 to1986, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant.

After leaving the military, he joined the Security Department at Rowan University where he worked for 17 years.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Johanna B. Heldman; his son, Dr. Carl L. Heldman IV, of Atlanta, Ga.; and his sister, Donna Haddock, of Trinidad, Calif.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, February 29, at 11 a.m. in the Church of St. Bridget, Glassboro. Friends visited with the family in the Mathis Funeral Home, Glassboro. Burial of his remains was in the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Monroe Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
