Ret. CMSgt. James "Chief" Goudie of Dover, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011 at Kent General Hospital. He was 70.

Mr. Goudie was born July 15, 1941 in New York, New York to the late James Goudie and Henrietta Norton Goudie.

He held Master Degrees in Human Resource Management, and in Management and Supervision. Mr. Goudie also had a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice all from Wilmington College.

He was a 1979 graduate of the FBI National Academy. He served in the United States Air Force, Security Police for 30 years.

During his career he had various senior level positions in managing the Presidential aircraft fleet, and had flown with many presidents including President Ronald Reagan, President Jimmy Carter and others, he also was at Andrews Air Force Base when President Richard Nixon left office and boarded Air Force One for the final time.

Mr. Goudie had also been on the January 1981 flight on "Freedom One" the plane that carried the Americans who were held hostage for 444 days in Iran.

He had also been head of Security for Dover Air Force Base in the early 80's before retiring in 1989.

Mr. Goudie enjoyed photography, music and varsity sports but especially enjoyed meeting his friends at Spence's Bazaar in Dover.

He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Davis and her husband Paul of Va.; grandchildren, Kayla Davis and Raven Randall; siblings, Jane Goudie – Clinton and her husband Willie, Fred Goudie, Samuel Goudie and his wife Alicia all of New York, Meredith Goudie – Wrighten and her husband Kenneth of New Jersey, Patricia Harper and her husband Robert of New York; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held 12 noon, Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 at Dover Air Force Base Chapel II, 1022 Old Lebanon Road, Dover. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt10), Dover.

Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Air Force Aid Society, Inc., National Headquarters, 241 18th Street, Suite 202, Arlington, Va. 22202
