Krystyna (Kucmyda) Paszeczko
1923-2014

Krystyna passed away December 14, 2014 of age related natural causes. She was born in Nasiczne, Poland to Nykola and Helena (Boburczak) Kucmyda.
She was taken from her home during World War II to work on a farm in Germany. After the war, she was sent to a displacement camp where she met her husband Adam. They married and had two children in Germany.
In August of 1950, they came to Eugene, Oregon. The family was sponsored by the First Christian Church and Mr. and Mrs. McKinney.
She worked at a cannery in Eugene, Woolworth, and as a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and baking for family and friends. She was noted for her mashed potatoes and borsch. She also enjoyed knitting for her friends and donated several quilts to the Eugene Mission.
She is survived by her son, Peter; daughter, Katharina; granddaughter, Christina (Keith); great-grandson, Desmund; sister Katharina of Ukraine; brother, John of Poland.
A visitation will be held at Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield, Thursday, December 18th from 3 pm to 6 pm followed by a panachyda service. Friday the 19th there will be a funeral mass at 11 am at the Nativity of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church in Springfield, [Oregon].
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the church.
