Gayther "Doc" Dockery, 78, Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Russell County, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born February 13, 1931 to the late Etha "Effie" Zimmerman Dockery and the late Hugh "Joe" Dockery.
He was a master plumber.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two wifes Mary Alice Robertson and Geraldinie "Gerry" Zessin; one son Jeff Dockery; and two brothers Ameryne Docker and Orrin Dockery.
He is survived by five children Karen (Neil) Brown, Karla Akins, Steve (Ana) Dockery, Neal (Darla) Dockery, and Lisa (J.B.) King; four step-children Betty (Greg) Wright, Virginia (Greg) Broady, Eugene "Butch" (Stella) Zessin, and Shannon (Kert) Meyer; four sisters Sylvia Day, Tampa, FL, Jean Hauser, Cincinnati, OH, Retta Coffey, Shelbyville, IN, and Joan Krise, Huntington, TN.
Graveside services were held Monday, May 11, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at Square Oak Cemetery with Bro. Donnie Coffey officiating.
Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangments.
Gayther "Doc" Dockery 78, passed away May 7, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Russell County, Kentucky to Hugh "Joe" and Etha "Effie" Zimmerman Dockery.

He was a master plumber and former employee of Roesinger Plumbing and Isley Plumbing. He established his own business after retiring to continue to serve the community.

Doc was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Alice Robertson and Geraldine "Gerry" Zessin; son, Jeff Dockery and his brothers, Ameryne and Orrin Dockery. He is survived by his children, Karen Brown (Neil), Lexington, KY, Karla Atkins-West Minster, SC, Steve Dockery (Ana), Williamsburg, VA, Neal Dockery (Darla), Somerset, KY, Lisa King (J.B.), Brevard, NC and step children, Betty Wright (Greg), Virginia, Broady (Greg), Eugene Zessin (Stella), Shannon Meyer (Kert).

Surviving siblings are Sylvia Day, Tampa, FL, Jean Hauser, Cincinnati, OH, Retta Coffey, Shelbyville, IN and Joan Krise, Huntington, TN.

Friends may call from 11-12:30pm with services to follow at 12:30pm on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 East 71st St, Indianapolis, IN.
