She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey D. Townsend and Velma Townsend; and her husband, Arthur B. Hartley, Jr.
Survivors include her son, Don B. Hartley (Nancy W. Hartley) of Northport; sister, Dorothy (Dot) Quarles of Mt. Brook; brother, Donald R. Townsend of Tuscaloosa; step-grandchildren, Brandon McCullar (Heidi) and Maggie McCullar (Stephan); and one great-grandson, Oihan McCullar.
Audrey was a 1942 graduate of Tuscaloosa High School. She worked as a civilian U.S. Army employee at the Aliceville Prisoner of War Camp and later Army Post I Indiana and North Carolina. She was a retiree of Alabama Gas Corp., State of Alabama and University of Alabama.
Honorary pallbearers are employees of Hospice of West Alabama, employees of Heritage Health Care, Dr. George Miller, and Dr. Ross B. Vaughn, employees and retirees of the Alabama Geological Survey and State Oil and Gas Board, employees and retirees of University of Alabama, Students Support Services, SGA and Engineering Dept. and staff and members of Forest Lake Baptist Church.
