Mary E. Sutton was living with her parents Benjamin Harvey SUTTON & Rachel IMES (IIAMS) in the 1880 census for Harrison County, Missouri.

Mary E. Sutton m. Jehu W Gillespie 10 Sep 1886 in Bethany Harrison County, Missouri. One daughter, Alma Eliza Gillespie was b.1888 to this union. Another dau Leora was b. in 1883 to Mary prior to her m. to Jehu in 1886. Unsure who Leora's father was.

Mary Gillespie (nee Sutton) abandoned her husband Jehu and dau Alma by 1895.

She married Evan V Everhart 17 Sep 1895 in Moscow Idaho.

Mary and Ev moved from Missouri to Washington with her daughter, Leora and settled in Pomeroy (Garfield County), a small logging town in the southeast corner of that state. Ev worked as a sawyer in a lumber mill. Mary and Ev had two girls, Letha Blanche (b. Nov. 1897) and Elma Ruth (b.1901), both of whom were born in Pomeroy, Washington.

Dau, Leora Gillespie, born about 1883, appears in the 1900 Washington Census as a step-daughter of Ev Everhart.
