Mikey was a fun loving man. Everyone that knew Mikey loved him. People that just met him would like him instantly.
Mikey's presence would light up any room into which he walked. He had beautiful blue eyes and a smile always on his face. He touched many lives and Mikey had many, many friends that loved him and he loved them back. Mikey loved his brother dearly. He loved his brother-in-law just as dearly. Mikey always spoke of his sister with such love. He would always say, "She is my angel here. My sister is an angel." Then he would say, "I think the world of her." His death created a huge void in each person's life that knew this sweet, gentle man.
He loved a good joke, and he loved to joke around. Mikey was like Peter Pan. He never lost that boyish spirit. He did not want to either. He was a very carefree spirit, living life for the moment.
One time, he put a frog in the coffee pot. Well, that was quite a story.
On Mikey's day off, he and Martha would take long walks on the beach. He loved the ocean. Mikey loved to go crabbing, fishing, swimming, boogie-boarding. The thing that made him feel closest to Heaven were playing the drums, by far, his first love. He was born playing the drums and made a career, as a drummer. However, what made him the happiest, was when he and Martha were together, knowing she enjoyed the same things out of life he did.
His favorite birds were the hummingbirds and the seagulls. Mikey loved to feed the seagulls and loved to watch the hummingbirds. He loved the wind twister and the chimes he and Martha had on their balcony.
Mikey and Martha loved watching movies together. Eating popcorn and rocky road ice cream. His favorite movies were Titanic, It's A Wonderful Life, and Multiplicity.
His family, the Marques' owned the Texas Café from 1912 to 1996.
