FATALLY HURT IN ACCIDENT SATURDAY NIGHT
CAR-WAGON CRASH TAKE LIFE OF
EDWARD STILL, OF SHERMAN
Funeral services are being held today for Edward Still, 41, who died Sunday from injuries received in a highway accident Saturday night.
Sheriff Arthur Kelly said that Mr. Still was injured when his automobile rammed into the rear of a farm wagon on M-18, four miles north of town, about 7 p.m. Saturday evening.
The wagon was one of two, loaded with corn, that were being hauled by a tractor driven by Harry Buckel, of Gladwin township. Sheriff Kelly reported that both vehicles were traveling north at the time of the crash.
Mr. Buckel received chest injuries but was not hospitalized at the time.
A resident of Sherman township, Mr. Still farmed and was also employed at Dow Corning in Midland. He was returning to his home from work when the accident occurred. He was brought to the Gladwin Hospital where he died Sunday afternoon.
Edward Still was born Jan. 17, 1911 in Sherman township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Still.
He was married to Eleanor E. Neuman on Nov. 23, 1935 in Detroit.
Mr. Still is survived by his wife, Eleanor; four children, Ruth, 12, Shirley, 10, Frederick, 4, and Leonard, 2; his mother, Mrs. Amelia Still, of Detroit; a brother, Fred, of West Branch; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Hutchings and Mrs. Edith Chartrand, both of Detroit. His father, a daughter, and a brother and sister have preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Oberlin.
Services are being held at the Hall Funeral Home at 1:15 and from the Zion Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. The Rev. H. F. Brietzke will officiate and burial will be made in Highland cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 10-22/1952
