Daniel F Neuman, Age 89 passed away on July 31, 2007. Preceded in death by his wife, Vona Jean. Survived by son Daniel F. Neuman Jr. of Annandale, MN; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He started flying in 1935 and flew for northwest Airlines for 36 years. He was appointed Director of Crew Training in 1960. Served with the ATC(Air Transport Command) during WWII. After retirement in 1978, he spent nearly everyday at Anoka county Airport restoring antique aircraft. In 2001, the FAA recognized him with their highest award given to a mechanic- Charles Taylor Award. His knowledge and expertise regarding antique aircraft is well known & respected throughout the U.S. After 73 years as a pilot, his love of aviation had not diminished as he was still an active pilot and instructor. Service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 1 pm at sunset Memorial Chapel, 2250 St. Anthony Blvd. NE, Mpls. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Airpower Museum, 22001 Bluegrass Rd., Ottumwa, IA.
