Louis Wagner, 89, passed away early Thursday morning, July 1, after an illness of eight months. He was born March 15, 1865, in Europe. Early in life he came to Detroit where on October 13, 1900, he married Hulda Otto in 1904 they came to make their home in Gladwin County.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Lily Purtee, of Gladwin a son, Edwin, also of Gladwin; two brothers, Fredrick and Rudolph, of Europe; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Mrs. Anita Andrews, preceded him in death in 1953.
Funeral services were held July 3, at the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Markus Koipsell officiated. Burial was in Highland cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 7 – 7/1954 Column – 7 Page – 1.
