"TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — Mary R. "Becky" (Maacks) Slipko, age 61, died, unexpectedly, on Thursday, February 16, 2012, at her home in the Town of Wheatfield.
"Becky was born July 1, 1950 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Loren F. "Shorty" and Miriam (Drinkwater) Maacks, and lived most of her life in Ransomville. She was a 1968 graduate of Wilson High School and received an Associates Degree in Accounting from Niagara County Community College. Becky was a Medical Secretary in the Medical Records Department at Mount St. Mary's Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 2004. She loved the NY Yankees, music and old classical movies. Most of all, she was a devoted and loving grandmother.
"She is survived by two daughters, Melanie Krell (Fred Armagost) of Lockport and Dr. Jamie (Dustin) Merrigan, DVM of Anchorage, AK; her grandchildren, Mackenzie Krell, Fred, Tiara, Paige, Nicholas, and Leo Armagost; a sister, Crystal (Larry) Peters of Wilson; two brothers, Duff (Sandy) Maacks of Daytona Beach, FL and Curtiss Maacks of Enid, OK; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Peter, Roger and Miles Maacks.
"Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Sunday from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Anne Cole officiating. Burial, in North Ridge Cemetery, will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 56, 708 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls, NY 14303."
