The funeral of Mrs. Clarissa [Corbet] Chapin, an aged and respected lady of this township, occurred on Friday last.
A large concourse of people was in attendance, among the number the old settlers took an unusual interest, and participated with aching hearts.
Mrs. Chapin was 71 years old, and had lived in this township forty-four years.
Thus it is the old land marks are fast passing away, and in a little while none will be left to tell the pioneer story.
Rev S.C. Strickland officiated and spoke words of cheer to the many relatives and sympathizing friends.
