Jimmie graduated from Vancleave High School in 1925 and a year later on Mar 23, 1926 married Benjamin Edward Ellis. They were the parents of 5 children, Ivan, Bea, Clara, Ben and Judy.

MRS. ELLIS DIES
Mrs. Jimmie Viola Ellis, 39, resident of Jackson County, died in Mobile Infirmary Saturday.
She was a resident of Vancleave and is survived by her husband, Benjamin Edward Ellis; two sons, Ivan and Ben, Vancleave; three daughters, Beatrice, Clara and Judith, Vancleave; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Manning, Satsuma, Ala.; two brothers, Pat Manning, Satsuma; and Ford Manning, Mobile; and five sisters, Mrs. W.S. Walker, Mobile; Mrs. John Unzicker, Mobile; Mrs. D.C. Baldwin, Satsuma, Ala.; Mrs. Mike Cole, Mobile, and Mrs. J.C. Miller, Mobile.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the home with services by Rev G.H. McBride, Mt. Olive Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. Rust of the Baptist Seminary, Rev W.J. Walders of Vancleave Methodist Church and Rev Albert Miller, Latter Day Saints Church. Burial was in Vancleave Cemetery No 2.
Pallbearers were: Roscoe Fletcher, Hubert Mallette, Clyde Cunningham, Austin L. DeLancey, T.L. Murphy, Jr., and Upton David.
