She was the daughter of the late Shellie "Sheck" Johnson Robinson, Sr. and Grace Edith Golson Robinson. She was the widow of Leland Laverne Davis, Sr. and the mother of Carol Annette Davis of Orangeburg and Leland "Lee" (Sherry) Laverne Davis, Jr., step-grandmother to Michael Rickenbaker. She was a devoted mother to her two children. She was the sister of Jewell Aliene Robinson Davis, Betty Miranda Robinson Davis and Shellie Johnson "S. J." Robinson, Jr.

She grew up in rural St. Matthews, SC and graduated from St. Matthews High. On June 2, 1952 she married Laverne and lived in Orangeburg her entire adult life. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Orangeburg, SC where she served the Lord throughout her life with steadfast love and devotion. She kept the books for the family business, Davis Trim Shop. She was an excellent seamstress and homemaker.
