Robert Paul Benjamin, 85, of Columbia, died Wednesday, March 04, 2015. He was the son of the late Ruben Paul Benjamin and Elizabeth Solomon Benjamin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Hendrickson.

Following his service in the U. S. Army, he began working for the Prismo Traffic Products Company and he worked in sales throughout his career. He was a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church for over 22 years and he enjoyed good friendships and recreation as a member of the Woodlands Golf and Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Marsden Benjamin; daughter, Marybeth Gawrys (Donald); son, Paul Benjamin (Teresa); grandchildren: Robbie Gawrys, Michael Gawrys and Blake Benjamin; sisters, Paula Barrett and Judy Snyder.

A graveside service was held at 3 PM on Friday, March 6th, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, with The Rev. Bobby Farmer officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel assisted the family. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
