Donald Wayne Blackwell, Sr, age 57, husband of Joyce S. Blackwell, of Summerville, SC, passed away at his home on June 22, 2007.
Mr. Blackwell was born on September 7, 1949 to Basil L. Blackwell, Sr. and Mary Welch Blackwell in Orangeburg, SC. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved the automobile industry. He was a collector of die cast model cars and coins. He also loved country music and to play billiards. He worked for many years as an auto wholesaler and as a sales manager for a Savannah, GA Honda dealership. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce S. Blackwell; sons, Rev. Donald Wayne Blackwell, Jr. and wife, Sheri of Summerville, SC, Travis Reid Blackwell and wife, Crystal of Ladson, SC, and David Blackwell; daughter, Angela Leah Blackwell of Clearmont, FL; one sister, Gloria Moody and husband, Michael of Moncks Corner, SC; one brother, Richard Arthur Blackwell and wife, Sherry of North Charleston, SC; and five grandchildren, Macy Kate Blackwell, Kaycee Jean Blackwell, Trad Randall Blackwell, Lauren Ashley Blackwell, and Brandon Shepard Blackwell.
Mr. Blackwell was preceded in death by his parents, Basil L. Blackwell Sr. and Mary Welch Blackwell; two brothers, Basil L. Blackwell, Jr. and William Thomas Blackwell; and one sister, Sylvia L. Acklin.
