He was born in the Pinehill community, a son of the late Marion Hugo and Ina Etheridge Black. He was retired from Champion Building Products and was a self-employed building contractor. He was a member of First Baptist Church, former deacon and Sunday school teacher of the Couples Class. He led many adult and youth mission trips and, along with his family, worked with Christian Appalachian Project for several years. He served in the U. S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Keller Black of the home; daughter, Sharon B. Yarbrough and husband Robbie of Great Falls; sons Mark Black and wife Barbara of Orangeburg, and Kevin Black and wife Ann of London, KY; brother, John Black of Elloree; sister, Elaine Simpson and husband Jimmy of Edgemoor; and four grandchildren, Krista Black, Ashlyn Blackmon, Aaron Blackmon and Greyson Yarbrough.CAMERON - Marion H. Black of Old Orangeburg Road died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Palmetto Health Richland.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Dr. Cary Hilliard, Marion Aldridge, and Toni Pipkins officiating. Burial will be at Cameron Memorial.

Pallbearers are Carroll Stoudenmire, Al Jones, Tommy Ulmer, Paul Bishop, Wayne Polin, Chester Tomson Jr., and Gerald Ulmer Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Keller Black of the home; daughter, Sharon B. Yarbrough and husband, Robbie, of Great Falls; sons, Mark Black and wife, Barbara, of Orangeburg and Kevin Black and wife, Ann, of London, Ky.; brother, John Black of Elloree; sister, Elaine Simpson and husband, Jimmy, of Edgemoor, S.C.; four grandchildren, Krista Black, Ashlyn Blackmon, Aaron Blackmon and Greyson Yarbrough
