Infant child of
Dorothy S. Bakelaar
and
Elmer Bakelaar
and sibling of
Dr. Bette Lou Bakelaar.

Today 12/1/05 I stopped in Cedar Lawn to inquire about a few things. I asked about Baby. I was told that Baby was born premature and at 4 hours old the Lord took Baby to live with Him. Many dear loving and caring people had asked if I ever knew if Baby was a boy or girl. No mention of Baby's sex was mentioned at the time of burial. So forever more that sweet child will always be Baby. No girl or boy, just a sweet angel God chose to bring home early. Rest well Baby. You're always in my heart.

Baby Bakelaar's grave is very near my great grandparents. When ever my mom and grandpa took me to decorate their graves I would always wander off to the baby's grave. I asked when I was old enough why there was only one date on the stone. Sadly my mom told me that he or she was a baby and didn't live when it was born. I never forgot that or baby Bakelaar. Holiday after holiday I would stop and pay my respects. Cleaning and leaving a flower now and then for the baby. One day I saw more of the baby's family join them. I felt that finally after all these many years the baby was no longer alone.
I always vowed to remember and care for that little one. Now as I add the name and stone to FAG I feel like we are family. I've added the rest of Baby Bakelaar's family so they will never be alone again.
Rest well little angel, you've been part of my life for a very long time and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for you.

Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:

The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star,

Hath had elsewhere its setting,

And cometh from afar:

Not in entire forgetfulness,

And not in utter nakedness,

But trailing clouds of glory do we come

From God, who is our home:

Heaven lies about us in our infancy!

—William Wordsworth, "Ode: Intimation of Immortality"

Why God Takes Children

When God calls little children to dwell with Him above,

We mortals sometimes question the wisdom of His love.

For no heartache compares with, the death of one small child.

Who does so much to make our world, seem so wonderful and mild.

Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to His fold.

So He picks a rosebud before it can grow old.

God knows how much we need them, and so He takes but few.

To make the land of heaven more beautiful to view.

Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try.

The saddest word mankind knows will always be Good-bye.

So when a little child departs, we who are left behind,

Must realize God loves children. ANGELS ARE HARD TO FIND!

I'm glad that there will always be someone else helping look out for Baby. Baby is not alone anymore. Rest well my angel. I always will love you.
