Virgil Edward Drennan, was born November 19, 1936 in Artesia, New Mexico to Virgil and Velma Drennan and passed away on April 20, 2012, at his home in Chico, surrounded by loving family. He was 75 years old.

Ed attended Princeton High School, and later went on to receive a BA degree from CSUC, Chico. He had also joined the National Guard and was honorably discharged.

After graduating from Princeton High School, Ed spent 10 years at B of A before fulfilling his life long dream of becoming a teacher. Over the next 30 years, he taught History, Spanish, English, Math, Computers, Drivers Ed and Government.

Ed pitched fast pitch softball for 36 yrs., and then retired to golf, where he was active in the Jr. Golf program. He was inducted into the Colusa County Hall of Fame in 2003, because of his success as a coach and a teacher. In addition to sports, Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and anything else that involved his family.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Arlene of Chico; daughters, Joy (George) Kiili of Maui, Patty (Derek) Prestesater of Chico, and son, Terry E. (Angie) Drennan of Arbuckle; a brother, Richard (Beverly) Drennan of Chico, along with grandchildren, Nick, Steven, and Ashley Prestesater; Jennifer Walker, Jessica (Abe Miessler) and Eddie Drennan; and one great-granddaughter, Maggie Drennan Miessler. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Betty and Ethel.
