COLUMBIA - A funeral service celebrating the life of Marcus O. Denard, 37, of Columbia will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held, Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Hopkins Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with final rites and interment to be held at Fishing Creek Baptist Church in Danburg, GA. Memorials can be made to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Assistance Program, 2501 Heyward Street, Columbia, SC 29205 in Marcus's memory. Marcus departed this earthly life on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He was born in Washington, GA to Odian David Denard and Karen Allen Pruitt. Marcus was currently employed with South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon services. He was a diehard USC Gamecock fan in which he was able to see Carolina beat Clemson 4 years in a row. Marcus also graduated from USC, Class of 1999, in which he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was a mason with the Lafayette Lodge in Washington, GA.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Jamie Price Denard; their children, Kari Anne and Price Odian Denard; his parents, Odian David Denard and his wife, Debra and Karen Allen Pruitt and her husband, Patrick; two brothers, Matthew David and Thomas Adolph Denard; paternal grandfather, Odian Adolph Denard and his wife, Jerry; a nephew, Austin Denard; uncle and aunt, Dan and Nita Allen; father and mother-in-law, James O. and Judy Price; a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
